Bunny In The Easter Tree

This tree is up year round and I decorate it for the season. After Easter the eggs come down and the birds, birdhouse and nest stay. Butterflies will be added as a reminder of New Life and the Resurrection .

Bunnies In The Foyer

I have had these 3 cuties for many years. Purchased at Big Lots. The tray was made by my daughter and stays on the chest year round filled with seasonal goodness. The large window was bought at a thrift store and was salvaged from a church. I enjoy hanging seasonal wreaths from it. During Lent...a Cross!

Bunny With The Angel

After Easter this bunny and angel will go out into the garden .
The heart shaped grape vine wreath will stay put. I added purple ribbon to the wreath for Lent. White ribbon will be added after Easter.


Bunnies In The Family Room

A basket of plastic eggs waiting to the hidden ...over and over!

Bunnies With The Rock Basket

The painted rocks and grape vine basket stay on the side table year round. The basket looks much like a nest. The bunnies are new this year. Purchased at A.C.Moore for $1.

Bunnies In A Gift Basket

This basket was given to me by one of my students many years ago. I have it out every day and enjoy using it as a place to put birds and other fun seasonal critters.

Bunnies In The Dinning Room

When my children were young we were given this cute Beatrix Potter music bunny and cup, bowl and plate set. I have used the cup to hold my husbands first feeding spoons and forks. A Princess House glass bunny reflects the sunlight coming from the afternoon sunlight.

Bunnies On The Side Board

I placed this cute birds nest in an old flour sifter. A perfect fit!


Bunnies In The Kitchen

This old scale is always a conversation piece so usually I keep something pretty on it. For today, the bunnies are the star attraction.

The yellow ceramic pot usually holds a ivy plant.

This heart grape vine wreath hangs on the cabinet by the window each day. Bunny has found a home here.

Bunny In The Bathroom

This picture frame, wreath and basket hang on the bathroom wall 365 days of the year. It is always fun finding little cuties to put in the basket to celebrate the changing of the seasons.

Holy Week ~ Illustrated Faith ~ A Journaling Journey

Sharing my pages from Holy Week that I have created using many different art mediums. As I grow in my knowledge of all of the different, markers And pencils And paints ....oh my, I also grow in my knowledge of the scriptures and how they lead, guide and remind me of God's love, grace and forgiveness. It's a win, win situation. Learning to F.R.O.G with discipline more and more each day.

Palm Sunday

Using the Worship Folder from the service I created a keepsake of sorts of a hymn and prayers . I used colored pencils  to highlight the text. I thought the colors looked like stained glass like the windows in the church.

The prayer card slides out of the pocket . I used scrapbook paper and decorative trim to complete the look.

The card flips over so the entire text can be viewed. Using more scrapbook card stock, sticky letters and a stamp pad, the back of this card is pretty to look at.

A Guide To Holy Week

 My bible is a study bible not a journaling bible and it has this nifty guide to all of the Holy Week scriptures and timelines all on one page. The butterflies were made using a punch. I had so many of them from another project....they belong flying around on the Resurrection section of the page.

This heart is cut from a paper towel that was used to wipe up spilled easter egg dye as we were dyeing eggs. After it dried it looked so colorful and I saved it. 

Maundy Thursday

I used a paper called vellum as an overlay for the photo and drawing .

I used the Resurrection Egg objects to create a scene reminding me of what took place that evening.

Good Friday

I used water colors in shades of red to symbolize blood, marks from the flogging and whipping. I printed a graphic I found on Pinterest using vellum paper and shaded with colored pencils. I used my heart stamps to make a column of LOVE. He Loves Me! He Loves You! The vellum page pulls down so you can see the entire page.

This is the back of the page. I created another scene using the Resurrection Egg objects.

The Resurrection!

I wanted to see how my watercolors would cover parchment paper..you know the paper you bake cookies on! I wanted to create a sunrise . I used the tomb picture from the worship folder from Easter Sunday. Tore the edges to give to some depth. I used clear stamps on my new acrylic stamping pads. I love that you can see where you are stamping...but I used a little too much pressure as I stamped. I used colored pencils to highlight The Resurrection text. Tabs at the top and side give the page some texture.

Easter Eggs are now Egg Salad!

So, it is the second day of our week after Easter Sunday and the time has come to do something with all of the dyed Easter eggs that are now sitting in the fridge awaiting their transformation. My family loves deviled eggs and egg salad so... for today ...all of those beautiful colored eggs will become egg salad.

Egg salad made with dyed eggs is so colorful..I can see most of the rainbow!

Now......I can not make deviled eggs or egg salad without my handy dandy egg slicer from Pampered Chef.  Well,  I could but  boy does this little gadget speed up the process. It's the best thing next to sliced bread.

So , I am eating smaller portions of food these days and the robin's egg blue bowl is so pretty and just the right size to hold the Easter Egg egg salad. Normally, I would have my egg salad as a sandwich with bacon . Yummy! But today I need a healthier option. Using those left over napkins too. So cute. I think I will have enough to last the rest of the week.

Now if you have never made egg salad, here is my way of preparing it.

 1. Peel the eggs and wash the eggs to make sure that there are no shell pieces hanging around.

2. Get out the handy dandy egg slicer and slice one egg at a time. If you do not have this gadget then slice/chop your boiled peeled eggs into small pieces. 3. I use a cap full of apple cider vinegar  
 ( the cap form the vinegar bottle) and add to the eggs. 4. Season with pepper. 5. Add mayo...we prefer Dukes. To get the consistency that we like I add the mayo, one Tablespoon at a time and stir. The more mayo the runnier it will be...as Mr. B would say. Keep it chilled in the fridge for a couple of days....but at my house it doesn't last that long.

Does that Mean I'm SOUTHERN?

Along with left over eggs, ham, napkins etc I have left over stickers from some of my Grand Girl's eggs that she got at our church egg hunt. Actually these are just a sampling but LOOKIE  at the cute F.R.O G. stickers. We will be using these in a journaling activity that the two of us will be beginning soon. Stay tuned for that.

Kids Easter Journal Page

This is a j.peg file that I created and you can scale on your print menu to print any size. It will print 8x10 size if you do not scale. This would be a excellent addition to your child's bible journal library or just a cute page for the kiddos to color to celebrate our Lord's Resurrection!  This is one of the prints that will be used to kick off my new Journaling with Jesus for Kids .... Illustrating My Faith Curriculum! I am so excited to give our "little pollywogs" another way to grow in their faith as they learn more of His Love, His Forgiveness, His Grace and His Mercy.
